The sale of the iPhone 16 Pro in India is set to begin on September 20, 2024, but buyers may face delays in receiving their devices. While pre-orders for the iPhone 16 series, including the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, commenced on September 13, delivery dates for online orders have been pushed to October.
For instance, the delivery date for the iPhone 16 Pro Max has been extended as far as October 15, while the smaller iPhone 16 Pro is expected to be delivered by October 5.
Despite this online scarcity, offline retailers are reporting a different situation. In Tier-2 cities, demand appears to be lower compared to previous launches, with some retailers indicating only about 50% of the demand seen for the iPhone 15 Pro.
However, there remains significant interest in the new Desert Titanium color variant of the iPhone 16 Pro Max, with customers willing to pay a premium to secure their devices on launch day.
In terms of pricing, the iPhone 16 Pro starts at ₹119,900 for the base model (128GB), with higher storage options priced at ₹129,900 (256GB), ₹149,900 (512GB), and ₹169,900 (1TB) respectively. The iPhone 16 Pro Max begins at ₹144,900 for the base model.
Consumers looking to purchase the iPhone 16 series should consider checking with local offline retailers for availability on launch day, as they may still have stock while online channels are experiencing shortages.
