Just a few days before President Muhammad Buhari’s presidency, the federal government reacted to critics about the unending award of contracts and external borrowing.
Babatunde Fashola, the minister of works and housing, announced that the muhammadu buhari administration would award contracts by midnight on May 28.
Fashola said this in Akure, the Ondo state capital while highlighting the n 90 billion dualizations of the 49-kilometer dilapidated Akure/ado-ekiti highway.
People are asking why we are still awarding contracts, he says, when we only have a few days to go. Should we stop this journey now and wait for the next government?
Fashola, who stressed that infrastructural development can only be realized by borrowing or taxation, said that nnpcl will take care of the project, which will cost n90 billion, through the federal government’s tax credit program.
