Nigeria’s entertainment industry has been hit with yet another heartbreaking loss as Chikezie Uwazie, a talented Nollywood actor, has passed away. This news follows the recent deaths of revered Nollywood stars, Saint Obi and Murphy Afolabi.
According to reports, Chikezie Uwazie breathed his last in the United States of America, a few days after undergoing a second brain surgery. The actor had been battling health issues, and despite the medical intervention, his condition sadly deteriorated.
Chikezie Uwazie, widely recognized as one of Nigeria’s most prominent stars of the early 2000s, made the decision to relocate to the United States seven years ago. Before his departure, he left an indelible mark on Nollywood with his memorable performances in various movies.
One of his notable works includes the film “Musical Whispers,” which shed light on autism. The movie, produced by Ebele Okaro and directed by Bond Emeruwa, served as a testament to Chikezie Uwazie’s versatility and commitment to meaningful storytelling.
Among his other notable appearances were in the films “Village Destroyer,” where he shared the screen with Osita Iheme and Ugo Ugbor, and “Last Kiss,” in which he acted alongside industry icons Emeka Ike, Ini Edo, Ejike Asiegbu, and Mercy Johnson Okojie.
