Swedish police have detained several individuals and established a security cordon around an area in Stockholm following reports of suspected gunshots near the Israeli embassy. The incident occurred in the vicinity, spanning the Djurgarden Bridge, Nobel Park, and the Oscar Church.
The police response was initiated after a patrol in the area reported hearing what they believed to be gunfire. “In connection with the ongoing forensic investigation, findings have been made that strengthen the suspicions that a shooting took place,” stated a police spokesperson.
Despite the heightened security measures and detentions, authorities have not confirmed any arrests at this time. Furthermore, police have refrained from commenting on whether there is a connection between the suspected shooting and the Israeli embassy.
The investigation into the suspected serious weapons crime continues as police work to gather more information and ensure the safety of the area.
