Russia and Belarus have begun a military drill as part of the two countries’ efforts to improve joint regional air defense systems.
The drill is expected to improve the interaction and skills of command and control bodies and pilots in a joint tactical exercise between the Belarusian and Russian forces.
The drill will run from May 27-31 as different units of the military are expected to participate in the drill.
The drill will focus majorly on practicing the protection of State and military installations from airborne weapons and also practice several missions in military exercise areas for the sake of providing cover to forces on the ground.
The drills will also be on protecting state and military facilities from air attacks and covering ground forces.
The 2 countries are also conducting drills for using tactical nuclear weapons as tensions between Russia and NATO mount.
