Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a security agreement with Norway Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre as Ukraine looks to solidify Western support amid Russia’s attack.
The agreement which was signed and agreed to on Friday is expected to last throughout the proposed signed year.
The agreement entails that Norway in support of her Western allies will deploy military aid to Ukraine while also helping the besieged country develop modern combat-ready jets.
Also, Norway will provide support for Ukraine in the Black and Azov Seas while both countries will also work towards fostering defense and industrial cooperation.
Norway will be the 16th state Ukraine will enter into a military agreement with, as Norway expressed willingness to supply Ukraine with NOK 13.5 billion worth of military aid, while a total estimate of NOK 75 billion is expected within five years under the support scheme.
Norway will also help Ukraine ascension into NATO as both countries reiterate their collective interest in ensuring peace within their territory.
