The coalition of the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz party suffered a massive defeat by the Conservatives at the EU Polls in Germany on Sunday.
The Alternative for Germany (AFD), a right-wing political party surprised at the poll exceeding their previous result at the poll with a significant victory.
The AFD took the second place after securing a record number of 16.5% of votes against the coalition of Olaf Scholz.
The electoral result has instilled panic in the center-left headed by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz as the Conservatives bloc urged the ruling government to pave the way for new elections.
The electoral loss suffered by Scholz Coalition is a result of fallout with the public which has been majorly identified on issues surrounding the Ukraine war, the cost of living crisis, and the increase in irregular migration.
The Social Democrats (SPD) which is the party of the current Chancellor Olaf Scholz suffered their worst result with 14% trailing behind the AFD party and the conservative CDU-CSU bloc which scored the highest.
The other coalition of the SDP which includes the Greens recorded 12%, and the liberal FDP scored 5%.
