The Mexico presidential election has been marred with propaganda and false rumors as the country geared up for the June 2 general election.
The propaganda calumny against the presidential candidates has been rife in both physical and online campaigns.
According to circulating trends, supporters of the current administration have been circulating old footage taken out of context to campaign against opposition candidate Xochiti Galvez for having the intention to scrap the outgoing administration’s social programs.
Accordingly, Sheinbaum has also been faced with false propaganda as she embark on her presidential ambition with mischievous rumors having that, she planned to turn the Basilica of Guadalupe into a museum.
Both female presidential candidates’ presence in the political landscape has been tainted in red as many accusations have been levied against them even concerning their university degrees.
According to analysts, the attacks against female presidential candidates are directed to denigrate them publicly and to pronounce them as incompetent to lead the country for the next administration.
Also, Sheinbaum has been accused of buying immigrants into the country with social help from the government in return for her candidacy, putting a dent in her political aspiration.
