The leader of the Hamas political wing Ismail Haniye earlier today met with the Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Al-Khamenei in Iran’s capital, Tehran as the leader of the Palestine political wing paid a condolence visit over the death of President Ebrahim Raisi.
Haniye was gratefully received by the Iranian Supreme Leader Al-Khamenei in the company of the acting President Mohammed Mokhber who received the leader among the host of world leaders to participate in the funeral of Ebrahim Raisi and his entourage.
Raisi before his death was an ardent supporter of the Hamas group in their war against Israel, providing both moral and international support for the freedom of Palestine.
During his visit, Haniye expressed the Hamas group’s deep condolence to the leader of Iran, saying President Raisi and his entourage died as a martyr and their death would be remembered.
He expressed his willingness to support Iran during this hard time as he prayed for the soul of the deceased.
The Iranian government appreciated the victory of the Hamas political leader amid the violence in Gaza, emphasizing their commitment to ensuring peace in the Middle East.
The funeral was also attended by the Egyptian Foreign Minister, making it the first-ever visit from a top official of Egypt to Iran after long decades of strained relationships between them.
