Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sachin Kurmi, associated with the Ajit Pawar faction, was fatally attacked with a sharp weapon in Mumbai’s Byculla area around 12:30 AM on Saturday. Initial reports indicate that the attack occurred behind the MHADA colony, where Kurmi was found injured and subsequently transported to JJ Hospital, where he was declared dead shortly after arrival.
Mumbai Police confirmed that Kurmi was murdered by unidentified assailants wielding a sharp-edged weapon. The police have registered a case and are actively investigating the incident.
The police suspected that 2 to 3 individuals may have been involved in the attack as their identities remain unknown.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, police quickly arrived at the scene and took immediate action to secure evidence. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination as part of the ongoing investigation.
