Abdullahi Sule, the governor of Nasarawa State, has declared that people who cast ballots against him in the state’s governorship election on Saturday will not face punishment because God’s support enabled him to win the race.
The governor said he was more worried about the peaceful coexistence of residents of the state than the results of the election in a speech at the Government House in Lafia on Monday after the Independent National Electoral Commission Returning Officer, Prof. Ishaya Tanko, declared him the winner of the election.
He thanked the public for trusting him to run the state’s affairs for an additional four years and vowed that his administration will continue to deliver the benefits of democracy and diligently work to advance the state.
