Vice-President Kashim Shettima arrived in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday to inaugurate the first flight of the 2024 Hajj exercise. The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) is taking proactive steps to ensure a smooth pilgrimage experience for intending pilgrims.
Vice-President Shettima, accompanied by NAHCON Chairman Jalal Arabi, inspected Flymas, a Saudi Arabian airline designated for transporting pilgrims from Kebbi state.
Rigorous checks are being conducted to ensure the safety and reliability of the aircraft. Pilgrims from Kebbi, Nasarawa, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are scheduled to depart today. The timely departure aims to facilitate a well-organized pilgrimage.
NAHCON has made visas available before the commencement of airlifting.
This marks the first time in many years that pilgrims have access to visas ahead of their journey.
