The Metropolitan Police has reported that a young man was shot in the leg in a drive-by attack in London.
The 22-year-old assailant was rushed to the hospital following the shootout which occurred around 1 p.m. on a residential road in Dagenham, east London.
In a statement released by the Metropolitan Police confirming the attack said they responded to the attack after 1 p.m.
Though sustaining injuries, the 22-year-old assailant has been taken to the hospital as his injuries have been declared not life-threatening.
Barking and Dagenham Council advised residents to avoid the area as emergency services responded. The shooting took place a short distance from Becontree Underground Station on the District line.
