The Israeli army announced on Thursday that 30 soldiers have been injured in the past two days of fighting, with 22 of these injuries occurring in the Gaza Strip. The military statement did not specify the locations where the remaining eight soldiers were wounded.
According to official Israeli military figures, the conflict that began on October 7, 2023, has resulted in the deaths of at least 634 Israeli soldiers and injuries to 3,573 others. This conflict has seen Israel continue its offensive on Gaza despite a United Nations Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire.
The toll on Gaza has been devastating, with more than 35,700 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, killed and nearly 80,000 injured since the conflict’s onset following an attack by Hamas. The ongoing violence has left large areas of Gaza in ruins, exacerbated by a crippling blockade that has severely limited access to food, clean water, and medicine.
The international community has responded with growing concern. The International Court of Justice has accused Israel of “genocide” and ordered Tel Aviv to ensure that its forces do not commit such acts while also taking measures to guarantee that humanitarian assistance reaches civilians in Gaza.
As the conflict nears its eighth month, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to escalate, with widespread destruction and suffering among the civilian population. The international community continues to call for an end to the violence and for immediate relief to those affected.
