Chief Edwin Clark, elderstateman and head of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), has encouraged state governors to step up efforts to unite Nigeria.
He made the plea during an advocacy tour to Abuja by the Nigeria for Peace Project.
Citizens for Development and Education (CDE) and the Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ) have joined forces to form the organisation.
Clark welcomed the team and expressed gratitude for their visit, stating that such visits by young Nigerians were a good development.
While emphasizing that Nigeria was plagued by a slew of issues ranging from corruption to insecurity, Clark urged the 36 state governors to combine resources and establish a unified country.
“What are we fighting for, some of us have contributed our quota to the development of this country, I do not want a divided country,” he remarked.
