The Kano State High Court has issued a directive for the Commissioner of Police to promptly remove the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, and assume control of the Emir of Kano’s palace.
The court has also issued an injunction preventing Bayero and four others from portraying themselves as Emirs.
The individuals prevented from portraying themselves as Emirs are Nasiru Ado Bayero (Bichi), Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar II (Karaye), Kabiru Muhammad Inuwa (Rano), and Aliyu Ibrahim Gaya (Gaya).
The court’s decision came after a request was made by the applicant’s lawyer, Ibrahim Isa Wangida, Esq., in front of Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu.
The followers of the former 15th emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, organized a unique prayer session for his reinstatement to the throne on Sunday.
Aminu Ado Bayero, along with four other emirs, was removed from their positions by Kano Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Thursday.
Despite being dethroned, Bayero returned to Kano on Saturday and headed directly to a small palace in Nassarawa. His supporters crowded the airport to greet him and then escorted him to the mini palace.
