The first batch of aspiring pilgrims (hajj) from the state will be airlifted to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on May 26, according to the Kwara Muslim pilgrims welfare board.
Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdukadri, the executive secretary of the board, announced a commemoration service for intending pilgrims held at Gerewu in Adewole district, Ilorin.
He said that the distribution of bags and uniforms would begin on May 24. The pilgrims would be vaccinated on May 23, according to the executive scribe.
Abdulkadri encouraged the intending pilgrims to be law-abiding and have a sincere intention of going there to serve god, but he cautioned against engaging in conduct detrimental to Nigeria’s reputation.
Dr. Abdulkadir Sambaki has also advised prospective pilgrims to be law-abiding and aware of Allah in all their activities while visiting Nigeria and the holy land.
