Aid Cutoff Intensifies Crisis
Since the start of October, no food aid has entered northern Gaza, leaving 1 million people at severe risk of starvation, according to the UN. In contrast, August saw around 700 aid trucks entering the region, while September’s number dwindled to just 400 after the closure of commercial operations at the Allenby Crossing.
Essential Bakeries Shuttered
With dwindling supplies of flour and other essentials, many bakeries providing bread as part of humanitarian aid have been forced to close, exacerbating the crisis. Bread, a lifeline for many, is now a scarce resource in the region.
A Growing Risk of Famine
Most of Gaza’s population has come to rely on humanitarian aid, but the severe shortage now places them at the brink of famine. Without urgent international intervention, the situation could rapidly deteriorate.
