President Xi Expressed Support For Putin: President Xi of China in today’s conversation with President Putin of Russia had expressed his support for Russia, saying he should resolve the Ukraine issue through negotiation.
The telephone conversation had between the two superpower leaders took some minutes, as both discussed extensively the crisis in Eastern Europe. Putin in his conversation with Xi expressed that, US and NATO have long ignored Russia’s security concern, and extending NATO membership to Ukraine is seen as a threat to the security of Russia.
Putin also asserts that Russia is willing to conduct high-level negotiations with Ukraine if they are willing to drop their arms. According to the statement of Putin, he said, war is not necessary and they are ready for negotiation if the Ukrainian military can disarm themselves, and call for peace.
According to President Xi, he stated that Putin should try to resolve the Ukrainian crisis through negotiation rather than military invasion, he also laid emphasis on the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries which the USA has been a defaulter in a while.
While President Xi had refrained from sanctioning Russia, he blasted President Biden’s remark that nations backing Russia will be stained, which goes against the principle of diplomatic relations with a country.
While most Western nations had to sanction Russia for its invasion, countries like China, India, Turkey, and others refused to put restrictions on the Russians.
