Atleast 130 people have been killed in Canada as heat waves swept across the country.
Temperatures have risen to 49.6 C and the same is happening to Washington and Seattle where temperatures are up to 42.2 C.
According to metrologists, the extreme heat wave currently being experienced in North America is being caused by a bulk of static low pressure air that is currently stretching across the continent but some say that the heat waves are as a result of climate change.
The government in Canada has opened cooling centres to help people and will remain open until the heat waves passes on.
