Former President Donald Trump launched a tirade against Fox News on Monday after the network announced it would be airing an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris later this week.
The conservative channel’s Bret Baier is set to interview Harris in Pennsylvania, a key battleground state, as she ramps up her voter outreach ahead of the upcoming election.
In a series of posts on his Truth Social platform, Trump criticized Harris’s choice of Baier, accusing the host of being “too soft” on Democrats. “I would have preferred seeing a more hard-hitting journalist, but Fox has gone weak and soft on the Democrats,” Trump wrote.
He claimed that the network’s decision to air voices from the Harris campaign, including spokesperson Ian Sams, had a “negative effect” on the election.
Trump also vented about his own experience with Fox News, stating that despite giving interviews, the network follows up with “one-sided, negative Democrats” that dilute his impact. He referenced his recent interview with Maria Bartiromo, complaining that it was overshadowed by subsequent Democratic commentary. “FoxNews has totally lost its way!” Trump exclaimed.
Trump also took a swipe at Fox anchor Neil Cavuto, calling his show “one of the worst on television” after Cavuto interviewed Ian Sams on Monday. During that interview, Sams pointed out that Trump had avoided mainstream media interviews in the past month, questioning why the former president had canceled appearances on CBS’s 60 Minutes and CNBC’s Squawk Box.
Trump’s rant comes amid growing tensions between the former president and the conservative network as they continue to feature more voices from across the political spectrum.
