A man who had served an 18-year prison sentence was killed after being released. The victim’s family placed his body in a vehicle and brought it to the police station. According to Matani Police, the incident occurred in the Shahidan Azakhel area.
As per reports, the man, who had been sentenced to life imprisonment and released after 18 years, was shot dead in the Matani area of Peshawar. After the incident, the victim’s family brought his body to the police station in a vehicle. It was revealed that Akhtar Ali had been sentenced to life imprisonment for alleged murder, and he had spent his entire youth — 18 years — behind bars.
Sources stated that the man, who had completed his 18-year sentence, was killed shortly after his release. According to Matani Police, the incident took place in Shahidan Azakhel, where Kifayatullah, a resident of Matani Azakhel, reported to the police that the 45-year-old victim, Akhtar Ali, and his brother, Sadiq Ali, were returning home after gathering firewood when they were ambushed by the suspects, Hukam Sher and his son Momin, who opened fire on them with Kalashnikovs.
As a result of the shooting, Akhtar Hussain was killed on the spot after being hit by multiple bullets, while his brother narrowly escaped. The complainant further stated that years ago, the suspect Hukam Sher’s son, Nurdad Khan, was murdered, and Akhtar Hussain was accused of the crime. He spent 18 years in prison and was released only a few years ago, at the age of around 45.
The Matani Police stated that even after serving his life sentence, the opposition took revenge on him for the previous murder. The police collected crucial evidence from the crime scene, registered a case against the suspects, and have begun efforts to arrest them.
