Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, co-founders of Ben & Jerry’s, have partnered with progressive advocacy group MoveOn to launch “Scoop the Vote,” a voter outreach campaign aimed at boosting voter turnout in swing states ahead of the November elections.
The campaign features a selection of Kamala Harris-inspired ice cream flavors, including Kamala’s Coconut Jubilee, Unburdened by What has Vanilla Bean, Inauguration Celebration Birthday Cake, Fight for Our Rights Sorbet, and MoveOn Mobilizer Milk Chocolate.
The initiative, which offers free ice cream, is designed to engage voters on key issues while encouraging them to participate in the upcoming election. MoveOn has announced that the campaign will take the form of an ice cream truck tour, with stops planned in key cities such as Philadelphia, New York, Ann Arbor, Madison, Phoenix, and Las Vegas. At each location, volunteers will assist attendees in making a voting plan for November 5, and share information on how to encourage others to vote.
In a statement promoting the event, MoveOn emphasized the importance of the election, stating: “We’re coming together to elect Kamala Harris and Democrats down the ballot to protect our freedoms and future.” The group also encouraged voters to push back against what they describe as threats from MAGA Republicans, framing the event as a celebration of democracy and inclusion.
The tour’s playful theme centers on both ice cream and civic engagement, with MoveOn calling it an opportunity to “joyfully celebrate this inspiring moment.”
