BMW Motorrad India has officially opened bookings for its new electric scooter, the CE 02, which is expected to launch by mid-September. This marks the brand’s second electric scooter offering in India, following the premium CE 04, which is priced at Rs 14.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
The CE 02, developed in collaboration with TVS, is designed for practical urban use, featuring a minimalist aesthetic with minimal body panels that blend style and functionality.
Under the hood, the CE 02 is powered by an air-cooled synchronous motor paired with a 2kWh battery. Buyers can choose between a single or dual battery setup. With the single battery, the scooter offers a range of 45 km and a top speed of 45 km/h. Opting for the second battery increases the range to 95 km.
Key features of the CE 02 include LED lights, a 3.5-inch TFT display, USB-C charging, and a keyless ride experience. The scooter is anticipated to be priced around Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom).
The CE 02 is marketed as an “e-Parkourer,” appealing to urban riders looking for a unique and stylish alternative to traditional scooters. The design incorporates elements reminiscent of skateboarding culture, aiming to attract a younger demographic.
The CE 02 is equipped with two riding modes—Flow and Surf—allowing riders to choose between maximum regenerative braking and a sharper throttle response. It also features a Bluetooth interface for smartphone connectivity and navigation.
