Peshawar: Transgender individuals protested outside the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly against the increasing incidents of violence against them.
During the protest in front of the provincial assembly, the transgender community demanded protection from the government. The protesters also chanted slogans on the occasion. The transgender individuals participating in the protest stated that incidents of violence against them are on the rise, while the police do not take action against the perpetrators.
The protesters also mentioned that, in addition to violence, they receive calls for extortion.
