The ongoing clash between two tribes in Kurram District over a land dispute has entered its fifth day, with the death toll reaching 27 and over 150 people injured so far. According to the police, the fighting continues at five different locations in Kurram, with both sides using heavy weaponry against each other.
Official sources report that 27 people have died and more than 150 have been injured in these clashes. Local residents express frustration, stating that the government authorities are merely spectators, while the police, administration, forces, and tribal elders have failed to establish a ceasefire.
As a result of the conflict, the main road from Parachinar to Peshawar has been closed for all traffic for five days, along with the Pak-Afghan Kharlachi border, causing significant financial losses to traders and farmers, amounting to millions.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Kurram, efforts to negotiate a ceasefire are ongoing. However, locals criticize the government inability to effectively manage the situation, claiming that government negligence has resulted in numerous casualties.
