A powerful explosion occurred between the supply depot and the security tower on Kohati Road in Bannu, resulting in the death of one security personnel and injuries to 60 individuals. According to sources, the injured have been transported to the hospital, with most reported to be in stable condition.
Most of the injuries were caused by broken glass from shops or homes.
Immediately after the explosion, all roads leading to Bannu Cantt were sealed, and all access routes around the Cantonment Board were closed. The police have put all stations on high alert.
For security reasons, the Bannu Judicial Complex has been closed, and the explosion has spread fear and panic throughout Bannu.
The explosion site has been cordoned off, and an emergency has been declared in hospitals. Authorities have advised people to stay indoors unless necessary.
It is worth noting that earlier, in an effort to improve law and order during Muharram, the district administration had enforced Section 144 for 14 days.
