The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has called for the release of tourists abducted last month by separatist groups near Quetta, Balochistan, on humanitarian grounds.
It is worth noting that armed militants had abducted a total of 14 picnickers from Shaban Picnic Point in the Zarghoon Ghar area of Harnai district after checking their identification cards. The banned organization, Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), claimed responsibility for the incident in a press release.
Disturbing news is circulating on social media that the lives of the abducted tourists are at risk by the BLA. A local journalist has expressed concern regarding this matter.
HRCP has spoken out on the matter, stating that these tourists are ordinary civilians and should not be harmed.
HRCP emphasized that achieving legitimate fundamental rights for the Baloch people requires a long-term solution initiated through sincere political dialogue rather than through active military operations.
Imagine that the abducted individuals included Muhammad Hamza and Muhammad Haris, both from Multan. Among others, there were four brothers: Hasan Raza, Rehan Raza, Farhan Raza, and Muhammad Raza, who are residents of Quetta.
Additionally, a Maghwi named Jehanzeb hails from Sadiqabad district in Punjab, and another Maghwi, Customs Officer Abdul Basir Darani, is from Quetta.
Later, the perpetrators released three abductees: Haris from Multan, Hasan Raza Sheikh from Quetta, and Customs Officer Basir Darani in the Zarghoon Mountain Range.
