The Russian embassy in Nigeria has tagged the post made by Bloomberg saying the Russian government is forcefully recruiting Nigerian students to participate in the war against Ukraine as fake.
The Russian embassy in Nigeria denounced the report as fake, saying Moscow is committed to the security of the lives of foreigners in the country.
A report made by Bloomberg asserts that Russia is coercing Nigerian students to participate in the war or face deportation back to their country.
A statement released by the Embassy of Russia in Nigeria on Wednesday described the report from the news media as misleading and urged the Nigerian media to refute the report.
The embassy said the news is not only misleading but could also damage the educational relationship between Russia by misleading scholarship and grant applicants as well as their partners who could have heard the report.
The embassy also asserts that Nigerian students in Russia face no difficulties in extending their visas.
The Nigerian Foreign Ministry has also refuted the report, describing it as fictitious and misleading, warning the public against consuming such information.
