British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has pledged non-military aid worth $310 million to Ukraine ahead of the G7 leader summit.
This announcement comes amid the G7 leader’s new aid to Ukraine worth $50 billion from part of the frozen Russian asset.
Rishi Sunak said the new aid to Ukraine will be channeled towards humanitarian, energy, and stabilization needs in Ukraine.
The British leader has also joined other G7 leaders in declaring unconditional support for arming Ukraine financially with the interest accumulated from the frozen assets of Russia to help in rebuilding Ukraine.
He described the conflict in Ukraine as a critical moment in Europe, and the allies must come together to end the war between Ukraine and Russia.
Though facing political uncertainty in Britain, Rishi Sunak has pledged his full support for Ukraine, saying the allies must do whatever it takes to end Russia’s illegal war in Ukraine for stability in Europe and the world generally.
