The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has condemned the brutal killing embarked on by the Israeli forces in the Nuseirat refugee camp during their hostage release operation.
Israel on Saturday released four Israeli hostages from Hamas in an operation that led to the death and injuries of hundreds of innocent Palestinians.
Guterres condemned the activity of Israel in all totality under the context of the hostage operation, the UN spokesperson said.
After the hostage release, hospitals in Gaza were flooded with bodies of wounded people, a situation which the United Nations condemned in all respects.
The operation by the IDF has also been condemned by leaders of the world including the D-8 as they demand an end to the conflict and call for an immediate ceasefire.
Hamas described the hostage operation as a brutal operation on the people of Gaza as Israel engaged in aerial attacks leading to a series of casualties among the living.
The UN urges Israel to abide by international law in the protection of civilians, saying every loss of life is tragic.
