Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook, revealed on Monday its initiative to develop specialized artificial intelligence for Europe. This technology will be fine-tuned to account for the linguistic, geographic, and cultural intricacies of the region.
Meta intends to train its large language models using publicly shared content from its platforms like Instagram and Facebook, focusing specifically on the preferences and characteristics of users within the European Union.
Meta’s AI is poised to transform technology by prioritizing user needs and leveraging vast datasets and advanced algorithms. It aims to enhance digital experiences by understanding and adapting to user preferences, ultimately empowering individuals and communities globally.
The company employed public Facebook and Instagram posts to train segments of its new Meta AI virtual assistant.
However, private posts shared exclusively with family and friends were omitted to honor consumer privacy.
