A German politician from the Alternative for Germany (AFD) Party was punched in the face during a political rally on Saturday.
The 70-year-old politician identified as Hans-Jürgen Zickler was confronted by the assailant who stood at the information stand in Dresden, the party reported.
The police have arrested the 43-year-old culprit who was held down by people at the rally, with criminal charges filed against him.
On Friday, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen was also attacked by a man in Copenhagen leaving her with a minor whiplash.
The attacks against Politicians in Europe have been increasing over time, as political leaders in Europe condemned the attacks in all entirety.
