Salihu Mohammed Lukman, who previously held the position of National Vice Chairman (North-West) within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has called on opposition parties and important stakeholders to unite Nigerians to remove the APC from power in 2027.
In a statement released on Saturday, Lukman, a former Director-General of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), emphasized that removing the APC from power is essential to addressing the numerous challenges currently facing the country.
He emphasized that achieving victory over the APC in 2027 is feasible if opposition parties and Nigerians come together, drawing parallels to the unity among top politicians that led to the successful pushback of the military to the barracks.
Lukman emphasized, “Patriotic Nigerians and democrats need to reengage in the task of national mobilization to create an alternative democratic platform to the APC and all the theatrical performances of registered political parties. We must muster the courage and have faith in the potential for change.”
Nigerians are enduring widespread suffering due to the surge in killings, kidnappings for ransom, food shortages, increased electricity tariffs, and soaring costs of transportation, goods, and services, all exacerbated by the APC-led government’s removal of fuel subsidies.
