The United Nations has condemned the recent public flogging that gathered public attention on Tuesday.
During the horrifying video, about 63 people were openly flogged by the Afghanistan authorities for different offenses.
Reacting to the incident, the United Nations has lashed out against Afghanistan over the flogging as the global agency calls for respect for human rights.
“UNAMA reiterates its condemnation of corporal punishment and calls for respect for international human rights obligations”, the agency said on Wednesday.
The Taliban government in Afghanistan has been faced with serious allegations of human rights violations owing duly to the system of justice which is the Sharia law practiced by the theocratic regime.
The Afghanistan-led Taliban government has been put on the terror list by different world leaders since they came to power which have been meted with crimes against humanity.
