The NLC has raised alarm after men in uniform stormed the venue of their meeting with the government representatives at the premises of the SGF.
The organized union announced on their Twitter account, that the NLC and TUC began a nationwide strike over minimum wage and reduction of electricity tariff.
The union while raising the alarm cautioned the government against illogical attempts on their leaders, saying it would further devastate the country by plunging them into economic crisis.
“Any attempt to intimidate, provoke or blackmail our leaders at the negotiation table, would be resisted and strike action would further be prolonged”, the statement wrote.
The NLC and TUC on Monday began their nationwide strike after an agreement between them and the government failed to materialize over the harsh economic policy of the current administration which has left workers in poverty.
The NLC and TUC have brought down their minimum wage demand to 419,000 adding that the 60,000 proposed by the government is not reasonable.
