The Maldives government has announced the prohibition of Israeli citizens from holding their passports in a bid to deter them from accessing the country.
This move was confirmed by the Maldives Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusan on behalf of President Mohamed Muizzu.
The move by the Maldives government is in retaliation to Israel bombardments and ground operations in Gaza which resulted in civilian casualties.
Also, the Island will appoint a special delegation that will work towards ensuring Palestine requests from the Maldives are given.
The Maldives government has announced its intention to organize a fundraising event to help gather support for the people of Palestine in coordination with the UNRWA.
