Dutch lawmakers call on the investigation into accusations of spying and coercion by Israel aimed at hindering International Criminal Court (ICC) inquiries into Israeli authorities.
In the House of Representatives, a written question submitted by member Kati Piri urged ministers to investigate the alleged activities. Piri, part of the Green Left-Labor Party alliance led by former European Commission Vice President Frans Timmermans, spearheaded this call for action.
The inquiry, which received support from other Green Left and Labor Party members, was specifically directed at Foreign Minister Hanke Bruins Slot, Interior and Kingdom Relations Minister Hugo de Jonge, and Justice and Security Minister Dilan Yesilgoz-Zegerius.
