The Israel Land Authority has called for the immediate evacuation of the United Nations Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) from its headquarters in East Jerusalem within 30 days.
This development was confirmed by the Israeli media who said the Israel Land Authority accused the UNRWA of failure to pay the amount of $7.3 million for conducting operations on the land for seven years without consent from the Israeli authorities.
The UNRWA has yet to make any comment on the evacuation notice as disclosed by the Israeli government.
The move by the Israeli government has been described as politically motivated following a demand made by the agency asking Minister Yitzhak Goldknoff to evict the UNRWA.
