The Kano State Police Command has promised to abide with full authority on the banning of protests against the removal of former Emir Aminu Ado Bayero by the Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The police have promised to abide by the order from the governor restricting all forms of protest regarding the Emirship tussle.
The State Governor has called for a ban on protests in the state as the political situation remains volatile over the removal of Ado Bayero and the reinstatement of Sanusi Lamido.
The Police Command in a press release by its spokesperson Abdullah Haruna Kiyawa said armed officers have been deployed in and outside the Kano metropolis to deal with violators who wanted to embark on protests.
While the police raise the alarm of security threats across the state, the force also reiterates its commitment to ensuring peaceful living within the state.
The police appealed to the people of the state to be law-abiding and remain patriotic by obeying the order of the State Governor and refraining from all forms of unlawful activities that can trigger unrest in the state.
The police also promised to arrest anybody posing a threat to the peace achieved in the state in years, saying any arrested culprit would be made to face the full wrath of the law.
