The Chinese government has rejected the peace summit format as proposed by Ukraine which includes the exclusion of Russia from the summit which will be held in Switzerland.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has sent an invitation to Chinese President Xi Jinping for his presence at the summit.
Reacting to the summit, the Chinese foreign ministry rejected the format of the peace conference as proposed by Zelensky, reiterating Beijing’s stance on a summit recognized by both Moscow and Kyiv.
China urged the United States to stand upright on its role and responsibility in the ongoing conflict, calling for an end to the escalation of the crisis.
China reiterated its commitment to finding a lasting solution to the crisis in Ukraine urging the parties involved to return to the table for the likable pact.
While the peace summit is expected to focus on the crisis between Russia and Ukraine, the exclusion of Moscow representatives will make the peace pact hard to achieve.
