One Egyptian soldier has been confirmed deal following an exchange of fire between the Israeli forces and the Egyptian forces near the Rafah border crossing as confirmed by The Jerusalem Post.
According to the report, the incident happened on Monday as the Egyptian forces were said to have targeted the IDF in an unusual incident between the two militaries.
After initiating the gun duel as Egypt forces targeted an Israeli truck at the Rafah crossing, the Israeli soldiers retaliated which eventually led to a fatality on the Egyptian side.
No immediate comments were made by the authorities of both countries but the escalation of the crisis was prevented due to earlier communication.
Further information is awaited from both sides, as assumptions of further escalation are expected to rise as a result of Israel’s shelling of Rafah after a peace deal broker by Egypt failed to materialize as a result of discrepancies from the Israeli authorities.
