The UN health officials in Rafah have decried the worsening state of health facilities in the area due to a shortage of medical equipment to cater to the needs of the injured civilians.
Following a deadly attack near the UNRWA logistics base in Tal al-Sultan, the influx of injured civilians has increased with not many medical supplies to cater to their needs.
The International Committee of the Red Cross in Rafah reports that their field hospital is receiving an influx of casualties seeking care for injuries and burns.
“We have received reports that other hospitals are also admitting a large number of patients. Our teams are working tirelessly to save lives. It is crucial to protect civilians and adhere to the fundamental rules of International Humanitarian Law: distinction, proportionality, and precaution”, the group reported.
Civilian casualties in the Rafah attack continue to rise drastically with no accurate figures on the number of injuries, while several dead have risen to 50.
