The Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif has declared his support for China over the situation in Taiwan, saying Pakistan is committed to the “One-Chinese Policy.”
The Prime Minister made his decision known on Sunday through his official X account saying the border of Taiwan can’t be alienated from China.
He added that Pakistan will continue to support China’s stance on Taiwan and help in facilitating the national unification efforts embarked by Beijing to bring Taiwan under its control.
“Pakistan adheres to “One China’ policy, regards Taiwan as an inalienable part of the People’s Republic of China, and supports the Chinese government’s efforts for national reunification.
“The so-called elections or transition of the self-proclaimed government in Taiwan do not change the objective facts on the Taiwan issue,” he posted.
Tensions have increased between China and Taiwan as the Chinese government announced its intention to take back Taiwan militarily if all diplomatic efforts failed.
