Russia’s media reports that locals heard some explosions before the fire broke out in the warehouse.
Despite online footage showing a substantial column of smoke that was allegedly visible from several kilometers away, Russian emergency officials deny that the fire was “large-scale.”
Moscow has experienced various fire incidents, some notable ones including the 1812 Fire of Moscow during Napoleon’s invasion and the more recent fire at the Zimnyaya Vishnya (Winter Cherry) shopping mall in 2018, which tragically resulted in numerous fatalities.
