The United Nations has declared Taiwan, a self-independent entity along the Chinese Strait as a province under China based on the United Nations Resolutions of 1971.
Under the United Nations General Assembly of 1971 Resolutions, Taiwan was recognized as an entity under China based on geographical location and historical heritage tracing far back to pre-independent China.
The declaration has further nullified Taiwan’s President Lai Ching-te’s claim that the Island does not have any relationship with China as both are different entities and governments.
The declaration of the Taiwanese President further exacerbates the volatile tension between China and Taiwan, with Beijing currently undergoing a military drill that surrounds the Island of Taiwan.
The situation between both countries has worsened with China not ruling out military action on the Island should tension continue to arise coupled with foreign interference on the Island.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has also warned the United States to sever diplomatic ties with Taiwan warning them not to play with fire on the Island as he disclosed China’s agenda of “One Chinese Policy.”
