The Russian forces have intensified their offensive into the Ukrainian region of Kharkiv with heavy shelling in the Northern region as the Moscow forces move closer into Ukraine.
According to the latest report in Ukraine, thousands have fled the city of Kharkiv as missiles were targeted at civilians’ infrastructure leading to casualties among the Ukrainian citizens.
As Russia continued its attacks in Kharkiv, taking one village over another, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for more support from their Western allies in shooting down Russian drones in Ukraine.
Despite many pleas from the Kyiv government, NATO is yet to respond to the demand of Zelensky, as the military organization warned member-states against confrontation with Russia in Ukraine.
As NATO mulled the request from Ukraine, the Russian military said it had dealt Ukraine another setback in the area by taking control of Starytsya, a village to the west of Vovchansk.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned that Russia’s offensive in Ukraine’s northeastern border region of Kharkiv may just be the “first wave” in a wider assault, as he appealed to allies to send more air defense and fighter jets.
