Al-Aqsa Hospital Forced to Treat Patients in Outdoor Tents
The situation at Al-Aqsa Hospital has reached a critical juncture. Despite being completely full, the hospital is inundated with dozens of wounded Palestinians arriving daily, as revealed by a spokesperson speaking to Al Jazeera Arabic.
The overwhelming influx of new patients has compelled the hospital to resort to desperate measures, including the setup of outdoor tents to accommodate the wounded. Shockingly, these makeshift treatment areas are characterized by unsanitary conditions, and health workers are grappling with a dire shortage of essential supplies.
In a distressing plea for assistance, the hospital spokesperson lamented the severe scarcity of medical supplies, medicines, and fuel. The situation is particularly dire in the operating rooms, where crucial tools for orthopaedic procedures are lacking, exacerbating the challenges faced by healthcare professionals.
Palestinian PM Discusses Ties with Spanish FM
Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa engaged in a crucial conversation with Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares over Gaza and Israel war on Friday.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed that the discussion primarily revolved around “strengthening cooperation” between the two nations and exploring the possibility of establishing a “joint ministerial committee.”
During the call, Prime Minister Mustafa expressed gratitude for Spain’s steadfast support for Palestine, particularly amidst the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Spain’s unwavering stance, including its advocacy for the recognition of a Palestinian state, was duly acknowledged.
Amid the backdrop of the Gaza war, which erupted in October, Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has been a vocal advocate for a lasting ceasefire. Furthermore, he has consistently emphasized the imperative of recognizing Palestinian statehood, not only within Spain but also among its European Union counterparts.
