The Dutch government has allocated an additional 2 billion euros ($2.2 billion) in military aid for Ukraine in 2024, demonstrating steadfast support in the conflict against Russia, according to Defence Minister Kajsa Ollongren.
This contribution is part of a broader package, including an initial 102 million euros for reconstruction and humanitarian aid, with the possibility of an increase during the year as needed.
The total Dutch support for Ukraine in the conflict now stands at approximately 7.5 billion euros.
The additional 2 billion euros in military aid will ensure ongoing support and continuity, particularly crucial given the upcoming Nov. 22 election in the Netherlands.
Ollongren emphasized that support will be tailored to Kyiv’s requirements, potentially including advanced drone capabilities, with a focus on air defense, ammunition, and air force assistance.
