Babagana Zulum, the governor of Borno, has requested the support of the state residents for President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Zulum conveyed his message on Tuesday during the commencement of the distribution of relief supplies to displaced individuals at Muna camp in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno.
The governor emphasized that Tinubu has the best interests of Nigeria at heart through the removal of petrol subsidies, and he believes that the president’s policies are beneficial to the Nigerian people.
Furthermore, he reassured the citizens that the current difficulties being faced in the country are only temporary and that there will be improvements in the future.
Zulum stated that the state government has already begun the initial phase of distributing food and other essential items to 300,000 households, encompassing a population of 1.8 million individuals.
Each household in the settlement received a bag of rice, maize, mats, clothing material, and an undisclosed sum of money.
Additionally, the distribution of relief materials has already taken place in Gwoza LGA and three communities in Kukawa LGA.
“We have also provided food and seedlings for farmers,” he disclosed.
During his visit, the governor also traveled to the Molai community on the outskirts of Maiduguri, where he formally handed over 400 houses constructed by the state government to displaced persons.
